Subject: Roadrunner Theatre Company Auditions
Roadrunner Theater Company will hold auditions for Yasmina Reza’s Tony-Award winning God of Carnage on Saturday, June 25 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm and Monday, June 27 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. This will be the fourth play in Roadrunner’s ambitious new season, which includes a nearly sold-out run of Ken Ludwig’s Leading Ladies, J. M. Barrie’s The Admirable Crichton to go up in June and the Broadway hit musical, I Love You, You’re Perfect — Now Change to run in September.
Described by The New York Times as a “streamlined anatomy of the human animal,” God of Carnage is the story of two “civilized” New York couples who meet to sort out a playground altercation between their children, and find that they may not be quite so civilized after all. The play affords maybe the best contemporary combination of dramatic tension and dark humor this side of Virginia Woolf.
Actors needed: 2 men, 2 women, playing early 40s to mid 50s. All roles are lead-type roles. Performance dates Nov. 4-20, rehearsals to begin late September. Competitive stipends offered.
Auditions will take place at the new Alliance Performing Center of Tucson (APCOT) Theater at 8892 East Tanque Verde Road. Auditions will require readings from the script, often in group settings. Sides may be provided in advance. Actors should plan to arrive at the beginning of the audition time and remain as long as possible, and to read for both roles in different combinations. Headshot and CV in hard copy at auditions please.
Mark Klugheit will direct. Please contact Mark at mklugheit@comcast.net to reserve an audition slot or with any questions.
