Subject: "The end is in the beginning" in Samuel Beckett's ENDGAME
The world of Endgame is a bare room with two windows. One looks to the sea, the other to the land. The room is inhabited by four characters: Hamm, blind and unable to leave his armchair; Nagg and Nell, his ancient, enfeebled parents; and Clov, who walks with a painful limp. Unable to sit, he orbits the other three carrying out their tasks. In a world of such constraints and loss, they commit the heroic act of continuing.
