Borderlands Theatre is holding auditions for the world premiere of Sanctuary, by Milta Ortiz. Directed by Marc David Pinate. 

 

WHEN: Thursday, June 21, 6pm - 9:30pm

WHERE:  Sosa Carrillo Fremont House, 151 S. Granada Ave. 

Between the Music Hall and Arena at the TCC, off parking lot C

Please bring headshot and acting resume.  Prepared two-minute contemporary monologue optional. 

 

AVAILABLE ROLES:

 

JEFF CHORD

Male, Caucasian, 30s - Early 40s 
Presbyterian pastor with self-effacing humor, tall and charismatic. 

 

WILL HEWITT

Male, Caucasian, Late 30s - Early 50s
Quaker and a goat herding rancher, Yale graduate with a great sense of humor.

 

VICTOR RIVERA, 

Male, Hispanic, early 20s  

Salvadoran refugee, seemingly good hearted, usually lands of his feet. 

 

 

PLAY SYNOPSIS:

In 1981, Salvadorans fleeing war land in Tucson seeking refuge. The law is not on their side and a group of church going folks are left to choose between the law of God and the law of men. Runs site specifically at Southside Presbyterian Church.

 

Rehearsals:   July 30 - August 31, evenings and weekends. 

Run dates:  Sept 5 - 23Wednesday - Sunday
