Subject: Upcoming Solstice Performance
Join us for a regenerating Solstice event!
We invite you to celebrate this winter solstice with us! You'll enjoy the experience of spoken word poetry, aerial performances, and DANCE!
As the shortest day of the year, the winter Solstice marks the turning from the cold, dark days of winter to the warmer, lighter days of spring and summer. Historically, this season is a time of reflection, renewal, and community celebration. This year's winter theme is based around climbing, evolving, striving, moving from earth to sky and then back again to relearn, renew, regenerate, redirect. In this Solstice celebration we envision honoring the interconnectedness of our humanity as we move forward with the return of the sun.
ZUZI! Dance will be doing something different this year by highlighting our Student classes, both on the ground and in the air along with our Solstice Community and Youth Aerial Workshops. These workshops have been a long-standing tradition for ZUZI! to create a space and opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to work, move, learn and grow together. Participants have ranged in age from 7 to 72. This multi-generational approach to dance is rooted in ZUZI!'s belief that individual perspectives shared and shaped with others creates a healthy community.

"In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer." - Albert Camus
The beginning silks class has been working hard this session to get comfortable up in the air. We wrap ourselves up in the fabric this solstice as the cold dark winter arrives. Emerge from your winter cocoon and come join us in this exciting and artistic class!

Beginning Aerial Silks
This semester will be exploring the theme of water and its relationship to movement. In this trapeze class you'll be using your whole body to tell a story, thinking and moving in metaphors. When it comes to choreography all classes are collaborative in nature.

ZUZI! mission is to illuminate and empower personal expression, particularly for those who do not have full agency for their internal voices. Our classes and camps, our biannual No Frills variety show, Solstice Concerts, Community Workshops, Residencies and the many dance and theater groups, all support individuals and groups in creating live art and can now do so in our beautiful, modernized home.
We believe dance is the voice of the soul and that individual perspectives shared and shaped with others create a healthy community. Your contributions are what allow us to continue our work. Your direct financial contribution, which is fully tax-deductible, will make it possible for ZUZI! to continue to develop the creativity and identity of our community. We ask you now to donate what you believe is the value of dance education and movement arts.
