TUCSON CUBA BRAZIL RESIDENCY

Kimberly Miguel Mullen, and Brian Davis and Miguel Bernal of Pink Martini return to Tucson!

This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in DIVING DEEP into the rhythms and movement inspired by Cuba and Brazil, and work closely with these master teachers!

• Both Polyrhythmic (recorded music) and Cuban and Brazilian inspired dance movement (LIVE drumming) with Kimberly, and two ensemble drumming workshops with Brian and Miguel.
• All classes of residency held at Rhythm Industry Performance Factory, 1013 S Tyndall Ave.
• Classes begin on SUNDAY, JAN 20th - with a full day of drum and dance!

Have you always wanted to try drumming in a fun, non-judging environment, great for a collaboration of beginners and more experienced alike? Belonging to the Sol Axe community has great benefits!

• Learn Brazilian and world music inspired drumming by oral tradition and example (no experience needed, no need to read music).
• Learn Brazilian inspired movement (samba and more) with stretching and conditioning - all levels welcome!
• Opportunity to perform in the community WITH your community (not required, but SO FUN!).
• Access to meet incredible master teachers, free or reduced rate classes and workshops.
• Be a part of a community that enjoys growing together, attending performances and trips as a group, and creating culture events.
• Personal growth learning new skills!

Our group is membership based. Membership includes:

• All instruction, use of instrument (and guidance on which one to use), rehearsal time/space/instrument upkeep and storage.
• Rehearsal Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 for both drum and dance.
• Additional rehearsal as scheduled.
• Group t-shirt ( special event t-shirts at a discount) Sol Axe sponsored dance classes with our dance director teaching.
• Opportunities to play for dance class.

Membership fees cover our rent, instrument upkeep and purchase as needed, tshirts, and putting funds aside to invite master teachers. We view or membership fees similarly to a CSA, except instead of "community supported agriculture" it's "community supported art" - your fee is a share of what we all invest in bringing the collective joy to the Tucson community!

$20/ Student with ID (over 18, coming by themselves)
$55/ Family (older children over 12, ask us about age guidance)
