Filmed Play -- Written by Emmy-Award winning director Genie Joseph, PhD

 

Performance Dates March 23 & 26th - 

 

Rehearsals begin in January -- Wednesdays at 6:30-8:00 / and/or Sundays at 3:00-4:30.  You do not need to attend every rehearsal.

 

Title: The Fluffer - 

 

A character-driven comedy. (No Sex - No Nudity - but contains Adult Language) - Takes place in 1975, New York City, the Green Room as actors prepare for the set in a (dysfunctional) family run porno film business.  Fictional play based on real characters.  

 

Audition: Sunday January 5th, 2020 at 3 PM.

Characters:

 

THE CAST - 7 

 

ROSEMARY - (20's) The Fluffer, girl-next door plain and pretty, with invisible wounds. The angel in the center of the debauchery. She “fluffs up” sagging men, but never appears on film.

 

ANTHONY - (mid 20-30s) The Knob, cocky, but charming in his own mind. When he’s not starring in porno loops, he dreams of writing an Italian Opera.

 

BUNNY - the Boss, a pushy Jewish mother with a beehive hairdo, a mink coat -- she’s the owner of Bunny Rabbit Productions, the family-run porno empire.

 

STEWIE - The Porn Director, Bunny’s 38-year-old pudgy, henpecked, nebbish son.

 

GERRY - the court reporter, is the “newbie” - it’s his first day on a porn set because he needs extra money, as his sister’s daughter has cancer.

 

DOUBLE D - Not the brightest bulb in the box. A “Zaftik” modern Mae West, totally comfortable in her sensual power.  

 

FIONA - A law student on scholarship. She has a mission to help women trapped in the sex traffic trade. Her only sex life is what she does on film.These characters do not appear on stage:

 

CHLOE - Stewie’s “shiksa” girlfriend, the camerawoman, but she really wants to make nature movies.

 

POPEYE - the waiter from the Greek restaurant downstairs who delivers lunch and sometimes fills in as a “stunt cock.”

 

The STURGEON KING - Israeli Soldier, GQ gorgeous but unreliable on set. Bunny gets weak in the knees around him.

 

MR. O - The Money Man with mob links, whose presence looms.

 

Note: This project has the interest of NY producers, and will be videotaped for them.
