The Three Critical Choices
Every Filmmaker Must Make
BEFORE they shoot a single shot!
There are three main strategies that filmmakers must balance in order to succeed with their target audience. This workshop helps filmmakers to delineate the fundamental choices each style needs. How to choose the right approach that balances the needs of content and story with style and delivery. How much is truth or realism the guiding force vs. cinematic manipulation? This workshop comes from the content of a University film course that Genie has been teaching since 2003. The goal is to help filmmakers, including documentary filmmakers to be able to make the best choices for their project, and how best to communicate with the creative team to get everyone on the same page.

Genie is the former CEO of Hawaii Movie Studios, a former ABC Producer, co-producer for a TV Series, Beyond the Break for Nickelodeon, an Emmy-Award winning filmmaker, a published author, who has written over two dozen screenplays, sold five to independent companies, is a judge at a top International Screenwriting Competition, (where she reads over 100 screenplays a season), and is President of Independent Film Arizona.
