In January people have New Year's Resolutions, and at TIM we get to start with the new energy of new groups to perform with. We will be doing a big shake up of our teams, including a few new wrinkles to our Saturday night options. Our first long form show at the theater was called Twitter Blast, and while we were a mess trying this long form thing out for the first time, I have so many fun memories from what that show first produced. Well we are going to harken back to our first show and create a brand new Saturday at 9 pm offering based on the wacky world of social media. Look for that to debut later this spring!
New Years also mean new things at the theater. For the first time ever we are going to raise our show prices. After seven years, it feels like the right time, as we really solidify our product and offerings. Also the prices have slowly increased on the fees paid every time we swipe your credit card, and we need to adjust. Starting with our New Year's Eve Shows, we will be going to a $7 ticket price. But don't worry our Friday at 7:30pm show (Happy Hour) will still be $5. We also plan to sell a laugh pass, where you can spend $10 and get tickets to both shows on a single night. We also know prices changes are hard on students, so bring a student ID and still get into any show for $5.
We will also be expanding our show schedule. Starting on January 30th we will be adding Thursday night shows. At 7:30 our incubator teams will be serving up a Choice Cut of the finest improv with the freshest faces. The show will be a bit shorter lasting about 45 minutes, and then at 8:30 pm we will be having a free jam show. A space for any audience member to jump up on stage and join us in the funny. We hope to create a fun Thursday night where our newest members, comedy school students, and people who just want to try this out, can come and experience and do improv in a comfortable, supportive environment.
2020 is coming, and as we roar into the twenties, I am so excited about the new and exciting initiatives we are bringing to 4th Avenue! See you all there!
