Ballet Tucson's annual holiday tradition of The Nutcracker returns to the grand stage of the Tucson Music Hall on December 28-29. The company's beloved and award-winning production boasts a cast of almost 100 performers led by Ballet Tucson's outstanding company of professional dancers hailing from all corners of the nation in leading roles.
Based on E.T.A. Hoffman's story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, adventure awaits the heroine Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they embark on a magical journey through the Enchanting Land of Snow and Kingdom of the Sweets. They encounter wondrous sights including an enormous growing Christmas tree, a giant Mouse King, swirling snowflakes, exotic candy confections of every kind, and culminating with a grand pas de deux with the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.
