Call for Auditions

Live Theatre Workshop (LTW) is hosting an open call casting audition for all performing programs from noon - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2. 

Musical theatre, dramatic, and comedic actors are encouraged to show off their acting talents at the audition. LTW casts roles for its professional Children's Theatre musicals, Mainstage shows, and Etcetera Late Night shows throughout the year. LTW is a Safe Place and ally who encourages people of all ethnicities, abilities, ages, and who identify as any gender to audition.

Some roles for the 2021 - 2022 seasons have already been cast. People auditioning should email a headshot and resume to Karin Hupp at karin.h@livetheatreworkshop.org and will be assigned a time to arrive for their audition. 

Auditions will take place in person at our new theatre campus at 3322 E. Fort Lowell Road. Additional safety precautions (listed below) will be in place to keep all staff and those auditioning safe. If you are unable to attend in person, we can schedule a Zoom audition during the audition date and time. In person auditions are encouraged. 

Please prepare a one-minute monologue. Those interested in auditioning for Children's Theatre musicals can also prepare a 32-bar musical selection to pre recorded  music. Please send an MP3 File ahead of your audition.  A Cappella songs are not recommended. 

If there is a good role for you in this season, you will be contacted for call backs which happen throughout the year. 

Live Theatre workshop staff cannot schedule individual or make-up auditions, but those unable to attend the audition date may submit a headshot and resume via email. 

Live Theatre Workshop also seeks qualified customers, stage managers, sound designers, carpenters, set designers, and sound designers. Those interested in technical roles should submit a resume and cover letter to: amanda.g@livetheatreworkshop.org

Expectations and Safety Guidelines:

Thank you for reading over these guideline ahead of your audition in order to keep everyone safe. 

Masks: All Staff and those auditioning will be required to wear masks at all times when within the building. You may remove your mask during your 1 minute monologue if you are comfortable with that. Singers will need to remain masked. 

Air Flow: HVAC fans and HEPA filters will be running inorder to keep a constant flow of clean air in the audition space. 

Time: We ask that all those auditioning wait in the parking lot until it is their time to audition. 

Foot Traffic: You will be directed to an outdoor waiting area just ahead of your audition. There will be a designated entrance into the building and separate for exiting. 

Distance: We ask that all those auditioning be aware of those around them and maintain a 6 foot distance between yourself and others at all times. 

No Touch Auditioning: There will be no exchange of physical materials. All headshots and resumes should be emailed ahead of time. All entrances and exits will be open and there will be no need to touch any surfaces during your audition. Chairs will not be available. 

Bathrooms: A bathroom in a separate building will be available if needed, but we ask that everyone plan ahead the best they can and only use the bathroom if necessary. 

Number of people: Only a single auditioner will be allowed in the building at a time. There will be no more than 8 people in the audition room at a time. Everyone will be space 10 feet or more from one another. 

Self-Wellness Assessment: All those auditioning and staff are asked to ensure that they are feeling well and without COVID related symptoms before attending. If you aren't feeling well or aren't sure, please do not attend auditions. 

 

Covid interactions: All those auditioning and staff are asked to remain at home if they have been in contact with someone who is known or suspects to have COVID 19 in the past 14 days. 


Individual Consideration: We cannot eliminate all risk of infection. Please consider your personal health and circumstances when making the choice to audition in person.
