Tucson Improv Movement shows at our theater

There is so much cool stuff happening on 4th Ave! First of all, a big shout out to Chef Maria Mazon of Boca Tocas y Tequila, who is currently competing on Top Chef. I would eat every dish she cooked on the show and can't wait to see how far she goes in the competition. Top Chef episode 3 is on tonight at 8:00pm on Bravo. But before that you can spend more time with Maria as she is going to be featured on today's Arizona Town Hall at 11:00am with Cross-Border Connecting: "A Conversation With Top Chef Maria Mazon". The event will feature a live cooking demonstration, raffle, and conversation with Maria. What an awesome way to spend your lunch hour, so go check it out!

We have some new neighbors coming in all around us! Presta Coffee Roasters will be joining us soon at the corner of 9th St. and 3rd Ave. They are moving into the Iron Horse Fabricators building, and bringing a cool neighborhood coffee shop to our street and the Iron Horse Neighborhood. The spot looks amazing with some great outdoor patio space, and we can't wait to a caffeine drip steps away from our front door. We also have Dillinger Brewing Company opening a new tap room in the old Coronet space right on the corner of 4th and 9th. I was talking with the Dillinger guys the other day, and we are looking into several ways to make 9th Street a thing. They are targeting a early May opening date, and we can't wait to have new tap room steps away from our front door.

This weekend we continue shows at our theater. We have the Jam starting up on Friday night at 7:30pm with your host Timmy Budinger! So excited to offer this option again. We will require preregistration for the event, so we can manage capacity and social distancing. Please register here if you want to come and do some improv with us. Then we have Improv at 7:30pm and Stand Up at 9pm on Saturday night. Get your tickets early, our COVID-19 Ticket and Entrance Policy is still in place. We can't wait to see you steps away from our front door, and coming in for a laugh!

Improv 101: Basics
Wednesday, April 28th 6:00-8:00pm
Instructor: Sara Alcazar Silva

Our Improv 101 class will teach you the two most important words in the improvisers vocabulary: "Yes, And." These two seemingly simple words open up the door to our six week course that will provide your foundation for comedy improvisation: team-building, trust, speed, active listening, and agreement. Over the six weeks you will specifically learn: grounded scene work, how to develop relationships, create characters, and cultivate the environment within improv scenes. Students learn to be fearless and have fun on stage using the TIM approach to improv.

Please note this is an in person class, masks will be required by all participants, strict 6 feet social distancing will be enforced at all times, and participants will be asked to regulate symptoms/potential exposure before each class.
