Subject: View Winding Road's production of Hole in the Sky FREE

Hole in the Sky plays through September 30th, 2021. There is no charge.

In 2001, I was employed by The Spokesman-Review, one of the last family-owned newspapers in the U.S.. On the morning of September 11th, my husband woke me with a cup of coffee and the words, "Looks like it's going to be a busy news day."

"Why's that?" I asked.

"Someone flew a plane into the World Trade Center."

We turned on the TV just in time to see a second plane fly into the south tower. I don't remember when I got to work that day, just that I didn't care whether I went at all. It was indeed a busy day. The newspaper published a special edition, the first in decades. Executives from every department went down to the streets of Spokane and sold it on the sidewalks downtown.

And America was never the same.

Winding Road's production of Hole in the Sky, by Reed McColm, can be viewed on our YouTube channel through September 30th, free of charge. We hope you'll consider making a donation to benefit Winding Road and Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization that provides housing security to First Responders and injured and fallen military and their families.

Maria Caprile, Artistic Director

Hole in the Sky, a play by Reed McColm, depicts the last 102 minutes of the lives of some of those trapped above the point of impact, inspired by actual people and events. The play was a finalist for the Pen Award in 2003. It was performed this September 11th at numerous theaters in the US and Canada.

Hole in the Sky is directed by Artistic Director Maria Caprile, and stars Denise Blum*, Tony Caprile*, Gianbari Deebom, Damian Garcia, Tyler Gastelum*, Mike Saxon, and Myani Watson.

Winding Road would like to thank our sponsor, Arizona Theater Company, for their support and generosity in providing the theater space for the Tucson community to join and remember this pivotal moment in American history.

While the reading is free, donations are encouraged. Proceeds will be shared with Tunnel to Towers, a non-profit organization that supports Military and First Responders and their families in need of housing and other assistance.
