We're kicking off the weekend of funny with From the Top! It's a musical improv extravaganza with special guest Katie Popiel! You can catch From the Top on the first Friday of every month - so mark your calendars! Watch live from the audience OR your very own home via livestream.

Even more family-friendly funny coming your way with the crew of NBOJU performing at 7:30pm!

At 9:00pm, the weekend ends with a totally UNCENSORED, One Night ONLY extravaganza! Don't miss the award-winning hypnotist Michael C. DeSchalit as he returns to the Old Puebo for one night only! This is the one show where you can choose to either SEE the show...or BE the show.

Every Friday our very own Dawn McMillan performs an improv scene with an improviser from somewhere new in the world. After the scene - stay tuned for 10 MORE minutes with Dawn to get a behind-the-scenes look into what goes into crafting the perfect improv scene - and more!

This week, Dawn is joined by none other than former guest instructor and long-time friend of the theater - Paul Vaillancourt!

Paul is a writer, actor, director, producer but most of all, improvisor who has been making things up for nearly 30 years.

He is a graduate of the Comedy Sportz Training Program in Virginia, as well as the Second City Training Center in Chicago and the legendary iO in Chicago, where he had the rare opportunity to study under the legendary Del Close.

After his group, Bitter Noah, was selected to perform their signature piece, the Improvised Movie, at the US Comedy Arts festival, Paul moved to Los Angeles and founded the iO West, where he has been teaching, directing, and performing (both scriped and improvised shows) ever since.

During his time in Hollywood, Paul has become a sought-after improv coach, producer, writer, and consultant working with many TV networks, including Fox, MTV, VH1, Oxygen, History, and Bravo, to name a few. Recently, he also authored "The Triangle of the Scene: A simple, practical, powerful method for approaching improvisation," available on iBooks and Amazon Kindle. He is also the creator and host of Improv Tips on his YouTube channel PVImprov.

Currently, Paul is performing Man vs. Movie (the world's only one-man improvised movie)!

Paul and Dawn make up a short scene on the spot - and then spend some time talking about life, the universe, and everything.

Her creative pursuits include directing and performing with comedic musical theatre troupe One Rehearsal Short, directing, choreographing, and performing with Saguaro Stompers Clog Dance Company, teaching clog dancing for Tucson Clogging Connection, puppeteering for Red Herring Puppets, and performing in musicals. Catch her in White Christmas at Arts Express Theatre this December!

Direct from Las Vegas, Internationally Award Winning Hypnotist, and Tucson Native Michael C. DeSchalit will be coming back to the Old Pueblo for a special show.

When he's not touring the world with his comedy hypnosis show, you can find Michael headlining in the award-winning show "Hypnomania" at the Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino in fabulous downtown Las Vegas.

For one special night only, he will be bringing his Las Vegas show to Unscrewed Theater on Saturday, September 4th, 2021. This will be an 18+ show which means there will be adult content and language in the show, so it's best that you get a sitter for the kids.
