Live Theatre Workshop
Opening April 8th, Etcetera Presents
Fremont Junior High Is NOT Doing Oklahoma
April 8 - 23
Fridays & Saturdays at 10pm
$10.00
This hilarious story that explores the complicated lives of diverse budding thespians shines a spotlight on the rewards and challenges that come with being a present-day youth.
Fourteen-year-old queer boy Chrysanthemum is the endearing know-it-all serving as president of the Drama Club Council and is based on no playwright in particular. His best friend is Vice President Phylicia, a coloratura soprano in every way. (If you've ever done musical theatre, you know what I'm talking about!!) They are best best friends, okay? They comment on each other's posts out of desire, not obligation. But when FJHS announces the spring musical will be Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!, our protagonists rift. Shoot! Now one of them is the antagonist. But which one?!
Fremont Junior High Is Not Doing Oklahoma is written by Paul Michael Thomson, directed by Ally Tanzillo and stars Miles Blakley, Gianbari Deeborn, Blake Franklin, and Amaya Ravenell.
Masks and proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test within the last 48 hours are required to attend this production.

Sylvia - on the Mainstage through April 30th
"She is not just any mutt. She talks, she swears, she manipulates and, in Hannah Turner's paws, she causes non-stop laughter."
-Kathleen Allen, Arizona Daily Star
A modern offbeat comedy about a new dog testing the bond of an established marriage, Sylvia emphasizes the importance of hanging onto simple pleasures during midlife. An audience favorite since its off-broadway premiere in 1995, Sylvia is a bright highlight of Live Theatre Workshop's 2022 Mainstage season.
