OUR SPRING & SUMMER 2022 SEASON
BEGINS MAY 5th
We are so excited to unveil our plans for our Spring and Summer season. Season tickets are now available and includes four outstanding Mainstage Shows, three Children's Shows, and one Etcetera Late Night performance. Now is the perfect time to renew or become an LTW subscriber and enjoy all four Mainstage shows or fill up your calendar with delight by adding all eight shows to your subscription. We can't wait to spend time with all of our amazing donors, subscribers, students, and patrons at our wonderful new theatre campus.
The Mainstage kicks off the season with an exploration of modern sexuality and human struggle with Annie Baker's Body Awareness, opening May 5th. Then two plays by Steven Dietz spotlight the tragedy, intensity, and laughter of star-crossed lovers with The Nina Variations opening June 9th, and Shooting Star opening August 4th. The season closes with Heather McDonald's An Almost Holy Picture, which offers an introspective look into faith and existence through the eyes of an ex-pastor and parent trying to show mercy to outcasts as well as to himself. An Almost Holy Picture begins its run on October 8th.
Our Children's Theatre season begins with shows written and produced by the winners of the 3rd Annual Young Playwrights Competition. Each year LTW encourages 6th to 12th grade students from all over our community to write and submit their short stories for a chance to be workshopped in the summer. We are so excited to present these works from such a talented group of Tucson's teens, showing on June 3rd and 4th. Next up will be Tall Tales: Legends of America; an endearing ode to American folklore, wilderness, and music, opening July 15th. As summer comes to a close, prepare to bust a move for DJ in Onederland; a modern hip-hop musical about the pains of growing up, premiering August 13th.
Do you love camping? Have you been taken to the woods under the guise of "fun?" This comedy is about what the beauty of nature brings out in us and in our relationships. From quiet moments with our loved ones, to the fights that shifted the family forever. Two actors play multiple roles in this late-night comedy that opens on July 1st.
