Subject: [Tucson Actors] Open Auditions: My Bittersweet Admiration, BFA media arts short film
Hello again! My name is Nickolas Montes and this weekend I am on Subject: [Tucson Actors] Open Auditions: My Bittersweet Admiration, BFA media arts short film
round two of casting actors for MY BITTERSWEET ADMIRATION. This is
my capstone film as I am a senior BFA Media Arts major at U of A.
This film is a short and production is set for November 12th-
November 16th of this year. Auditions will be held this Saturday
October 15th from 12pm thru 5pm. The place of the open auditions
will be at the University of Arizona at the Harvill building room
208. (the room might change, i will update immediately if this
happens)
MY BITTERSWEET ADMIRATION explores a young man moving into a new
stage of his life, quasi adulthood/ the "college years". He is an
orphan and has been living in the same foster home since he was 13.
As a product of the "system" all Ronny can do is desparately cling
to "hope" of a better life. Just before his departure Ronny
discovers a sense he had all but given up on, belonging.
Characters:
Ronny- (18 years old)
Has been an orphan all his life. Has lived in three different
foster homes. He has been living with Amy for nearly 6 years and is
now leaving for college. This character is of subtlety. Much of his
emotion is internal. Ronny is a compassionate character but, isn't
above selfishness.
Amy- (middle aged)
Widowed and lonely. She is a loving figure that rules her humble
foster home by the book. Her duties to the teenagers come first.
Janet- (17 years old)
Has been living in foster care since she was 10. The product of a
drug addicted single parent family Janet still communicates with a
mother whom acts like a daughter. Janet is a very aware character.
She has been living with Ronny and Amy for nearly 5 years.
Considers Ronny to be a big brother but is actually his superior
acting as his conscience at times.
Leo- (14 years old)
The newest edition to Amy's foster home having only been living
there about 10 months. A child of an abusive family Leo has found
peace within these newwalls especially being under the wing of role
model Ronny.
Again I am casting actors for MY BITTERSWEET ADMIRATION with
auditions on the
Saturday October 15th from 12pm thru 5pm. The place of the open
auditions will be at the University of Arizona at the Harvill
building room 208. (will update immediately if there is a change in
location)
