Subject: two submissions

Play audition notice:

FoxPaws Productions

Auditions for actor-writers for an original Mystery Dinner Theatre production will be August 27th and 28th. 7 women and one man. Place TBA.

This as yet unnamed show will be written an a improv-collaborative writing technique. From feedback from previous FoxPaws actors: this promises to be one of the most creative things you will ever do. Since you will develop your own character, our characters have more depth than many comedy formats. The show is very interactive, with actors roaming through the “diners” and answering questions in between acts.

Because this is written from an improv base, there are three session of improv happening in the next three weeks.(June 29, July 6 and 15) Experienced? Come brush up your skills. Newbie? Come learn some of the games that will be folded into our final scenes.

The theme that we were given from our sponsoring organization, the  American Association of University Women,  is Women’s Equity.  The setting is a competition of costume making companies vying for funding for a new location in Green Valley.  There will be a murder, of course.

The gimmick that we are using is “channeling” of famous women. If the right actresses audition, I would love to see a Rosa Parks, a Mother Jones, a Dorothy Huerta, an Eleanor Roosevelt…..  Or pick a famous woman that fits your skill set: If we cast singers, there will be singing, keyboard, guitar? Each actor will do some research to bring some facts to the production, but overall it is all in good fun and played for laughs.

The guy? Think positive, we don’t want to make a scapegoat of him. He will have an equal role and say in the writing process.

There is no pay, but you do get fed. Two performances - October 30, evening and October 31 matinee. This leaves you with a great costume and free for Halloween.

Rehearsals and performances are in Sahuarita.
