For Immediate Release

The 40th Annual Juneteenth Celebration is blessed and fortunate to have -- Stogie Kenyatta's acclaimed one-man show on Paul Robeson. Mr. Kenyatta brings a unique interpretation to the stage, where he majestically captures the essence of Paul Robeson. Portraying 10 characters he chronologically takes us thru the life of History's 1st Black Renaissance man & one of America's most complex & brilliant citizens.

Complete with props and wardrobe changes, the show is a blend of inspiring finger-snapping Jazz, Bebop, Gospel and Big Band sounds. The show serves as a classy, cultural artistic centerpiece & complements any social agenda. "Our objective is that the show will inspire an appreciation for diversity & propel its audience to greater success & guide them to a more Nobel life," Stogie Kenyatta.  Enjoy this laugh-out-loud, entertaining and educational event.

Stogie has amassed over 25 TV & Film credits from sit-coms, soap operas, to guest starring roles on the series JAG, ER, FBI, Bold & Beautiful,  MADD TV, and Renegades. He has also appeared on the Bernie Mac Show, Matlock and in Batman and Robin and Species. He has performed in Europe, Tokyo, Japan & Okinawa. He was invited to perform this show in West Africa.

Members of Tucson's Mount Calvary Church Congregation were captivated by Kenyatta's performance at a Church convention and invited him to Tucson. Stogie thought the 40th Anniversary Juneteenth Celebration was a perfect venue since he was on the West Coast and he took them up on their offer. This show is being donated and dedicated to the people of Tucson by Stogie Kenyatta and it is our hope that our city will show its appreciation not only for an outstanding performing artist but for the memory of an outstanding American Renaissance man.

Stogie's wit & sarcasm serves him well as a working stand- up comic and screenwriter. However his one-man show on Paul Robeson is the work for which he is most proud & hopes it contributes to spreading his legacy.
