BOOKMANS PRESENTS SPOOF 'N' CINEMA AT THE TEMPLE OF MUSIC AND ART

Bookmans presents Spoof 'N' Cinema at the Temple of Music and Art on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 7:00PM. The doors to this live event open at 6:00PM. Admission is $9 and tickets are sold exclusively at all Bookmans locations.

Local comedians will lampoon the film Night of the Living Dead in conjunction with the movie, giving the effect of a Mystery Science Theater program. In celebration of Halloween, Bookmans is encouraging patrons to dress in costume, and prizes will be awarded to participants.

The idea for Spoof 'N' Cinema originated with Bookmans Community Relations Manager Michelle Armstrong. "I was watching a MST3K on Netflix one day and thought wouldn't it be cool if Tucson did something like that and that's how the idea was born," she said.  "I contacted Laffs comedy club to see if any of their comedians would be interested in creating material in conjunction with an old movie.  The Temple of Music and Art was a fantastic fit for the venue, and I am really excited to have a partnership with Arizona Theatre Company."

For more information please visit www.bookmans.com, or call (520) 881-1744. Spoof 'N' Cinema for Night of the Living Dead has a humor rating of PG-13.

The Temple of Music and Art, located in historic downtown Tucson, is a refurbished 1927 theatre, built in the Spanish Colonial style that flavors so much of our city. Its graceful courtyard is a wonderful place to gather before or after the show. For an extra treat, enjoy creative light fare at The Temple Lounge facing the courtyard. Inside, the intimate 627-seat theatre ensures a great view from every location - no seat is more than 66 feet from the stage.
