AUDITION NOTICE

Borderlands Theater casting for new MAS docudrama play.

 

 

WHAT:      Borderlands Theater Company is casting for IN LAK ECH, a new docudrama

                   play about the banning of Mexican American Studies in the Tucson Unified

                   School District.

 

WHO:        2 Female Hispanic, multiple roles ranging in age 18 - 70.

                   2 Male Hispanic, multiple roles ranging in age 18 - 60.

 

WHEN:     Saturday, January 11, 2014. From 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

 

WHERE:   Borderlands Office, 40 W. Broadway Blvd., Tucson,

In Lak Ech: The Criminalization of Knowledge has been commissioned by the National New Play Network. This exciting new docudrama project is based on in-depth interviews with TUSD students, teachers, and board members along with community elders, scholars, and journalists.

 

Casting is for a staged reading of the developing script. The reading takes place as part of Borderland Theater’s Encuentro Border Theatre Festival on February 16, 2014, 7:00 p.m. at Zuzi Theatre in Tucson.

 

Please email or bring to the audition a headshot and acting resume if you have it. You may also prepare a two minute, contemporary monologue if you like, but this is not required.
