Subject: Comedy Sketch Writing Classes for Tucson Stage

We are excited to introduce our sketch writing curriculum to you and your constituents.  The Tucson Improv Movement is a comedy theater located on 4th Ave, and we have been teaching our improv comedy curriculum to Tucson for the past 4 years.  Last year we developed our comedy sketch writing curriculum and want to share it with you.

Our sketch writing curriculum features two levels, and focuses on the basics of writing comedy sketches. Each course is six weeks in length. First, we look at generating comedic ideas, formulating comedic premises, the game of the sketch and sketch revision. We teach people to write smart two person scenes grounded in reality, and have fun doing it under the TIM Comedy Philosophy!

This course will be helpful for anyone interested in learning a new writing skill. We focus on collaborative development and encourage students to work together in class every week! It is a fun way to write in a collaborative and supportive environment, and helps writers learn the core concepts of comedy.

If you are interested please feel free to contact me with any questions you have.  Please pass this information on to any one in your writing group, and if they are interested in registering they can do so on our website www.tucsonimprov.com.  Classes are 2 and 1/2 hours per session, meeting once per week for six weeks and the course cost is $150.

We hope to see you at TIM,

Justin
