Subject: STS Auditions for October Production of "American Buffalo"


Speak The Speech Theatre announces auditions for its fall production of David Mamet’s award winning play,

“American Buffalo”.



In a Chicago junk shop three small time crooks plot to rob a man of his coin collection, the showpiece of which is a valuable "Buffalo nickel".

These high-minded grifters fancy themselves businessmen pursuing legitimate free enterprise.



3 male roles:

1.)    Donny – pawn shop owner 45-60 years old.

2.)    Teach – cohort of Donny’s 40-50 years old.

3.)    Bobby -- Donny’s gopher and addicted to heroin, 16-22 years old.


We are also seeking:

1.)    Set designer

2.)    Publicist

3.)    Lighting and sound tech.



All positions offer a considerable stipend (You must be available for rehearsals starting late July through performance. Details will be discussed at auditions).


Thursdays through Sundays, October 7th through October 23rd.


Bring a 3 minute contemporary monologue and be prepared to read from the script.
