The Invisible Theatre of Tucson continues its 2006-2007 Theatre Season with the premiere of LETTERS TO SALA by Arlene Hutton.  Every family has its secrets, though few of them have the power both to transform lives and to fill in crucial gaps in world history.  But then, few families have a mother and a daughter quite like Sala and Ann Kirschner.  LETTERS TO SALA is their story. It is based on a treasure trove of over 300 personal letters received by Sala while imprisoned in various Nazi labor camps between 1940 and 1945.  The play illuminates this provocative and profound true story and offers a testament to the triumph of the human spirit,

“The letters tell of a past locked away by a young woman who

hoped never to resurrect it, and of the eventual understanding

between a mother and a daughter.”
