Bisbee's Obscure Productions Announces Auditions for "Aladdin"

Bisbee's Obscure Productions will hold auditions for "Aladdin" Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25, 2007. Actors ages eight and up through adults are invited to audition.

Auditions will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm both days at Dance Arts Studios, 317 Arizona Street in the Warren section of Bisbee. Actors should bring a memorized 1-3 minute monologue, comedy preferred, no original work. If you have a special skill such as singing, dancing or juggling, please be prepared to show off. The roles of Aladdin and Princess Rosebud require singing. Obscure Productions is also seeking actors skilled in American Sign Language.

This is not the Disney "Aladdin." It is a funny contemporary adaptation from the translation by explorer Richard Burton.

Rehearsals for "Aladdin" will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons at Dance Arts. Evening rehearsals will be added closer to the performance.

Performances will be on the evenings of June 22, 23 and 24, 2007 outdoors in Bisbee's City Park, pending City approval. Bisbee is located 90 miles southeast of Tucson on Highway 80.
