Assessment Building on the NORTH side of the hospital. Directions are below

Please prepare a short monologue and bring a headshot, if available.
Be prepared to read from the script

From the website:
This piece addresses postpartum depression.....and broader cultural
views of motherhood...The piece incorporates a diversity of voices with
different class, ethnic, and religious points of view. The play includes
personal essays, excerpts from novels, and interview material....The piece
addresses the isolation, loss of power, loss of sense of self, and shame
these women experience - while including humor and messages of
hope.....Material is presented from other cultures' postpartum practices,
which seem to offer more community, hope, and healing for women after
childbirth.

You don't have to have had PPD or children to participate! Looking
particularly for women who dance or move very well! The play will be
presented at St. Joseph's Hospital May 17, and possibly at other locations
in Arizona...calls have already started to come in!

There may be some financial reward for this production.
