Subject: FW: Jazz night reminder
Hi All,
Just a reminder that Beowulf Alley Theatre’s final Jazz Event of this season will be on Tuesday, June 26 at 7:30p. Doors will open at 6:30p. We have been so fortunate to have Tony Frank, Lamont Arthur, Debbie Luna, Evan Dain, Sly Slipetsky and Pete Swan rocking our theatre for this series of 4 Jazz Shows. They have helped us raise a little money and a lot of awareness of our theatre.
This performance will be just a little different than the other three. Barrio will not be open after the show. Instead, the jam will continue right on the Beowulf stage until midnight (or the last die-hard goes home, maybe). Dancing is encouraged. There will be desserts and beverages. And you never know what musician might pop in for the after-party jam.
So don’t forget to buy your tickets for “BeBop Meets Broadway” and support these terrific musicians and our amazing arts community.
Then, on Wednesday night, make it over to Club Congress to hear the Thrift Store Cowboys perform. Some of you have heard them perform at my home. Some of you may have heard them at other venues in town. They mix country, jazz, blues, rock or anything that strikes them into some very original music with some very creative lyrics. They recorded their third CD right here in Tucson in February 2006 and that’s when we adopted them. They are a hard working, talented bunch of musicians who deserve your support. Besides, all of my children have an obligation to provide for me in my old age – biological AND adopted. Mama needs a new pair of shoes.
Both of these events are worth giving up the TV and, together, we can have a great time. See you there!
Best,
Beth
