Subject: STAGED READINGS BORDERLANDS

Dear friends,
Please mark your calendars for Monday and Tuesday.

“Our Dad is in Atlantis”/“Papá está en la Atlántida” by Javier Malpica, translated by Jorge Ignacio Cortinas.

The play received the prestigious Mexican award Premio Nacional de Dramaturgia “Víctor Hugo Rascón Banda”en 2005. It is a poignant border story about two young brothers who trek to “el Norte” in hopes of reuniting with their father.  The English version will feature L.A. based Joe Quintero, last seen in Tucson as “Sam” in “Earthquake Chica”, and local actor Robert Encila, and it will be read September 24, 7:30 pm at the U of A Modern Languages Auditorium.

The Spanish version features- along with Quintero- internationally known Mexican actor Vïctor Carpinteiro, last seen in Tucson in the critically acclaimed production of “ Deseo”, and it will be read September 25, 7:30 pm at the Modern Languages Auditorium at the U of A. Directed by Eva Tessler
Hope to see you there,
