Subject: Bloody Unicorn Theater presents Lesbian Shorts IV

LESBIAN SHORTS IV, the Bloody Unicorn Theater Company's annual
festival of original one-act plays with a Sapphic slant, is returning
for its fourth, and possibly final, year.  LESBIAN SHORTS IV features
plays ranging from slapstick comedy to realistic drama to avant-garde
weirdness, all with the common thread of a lesbian character or
relationship as a central element. This year's festival premieres a
total of 4 new shows, along with a special guest performer each night.
All plays will be presented at each performance.

There will also be a **Two Day Only Special Command Performance in
Scottsdale** at Entertainment Alley, 2200 N. Scottsdale Rd., on
Saturday, September 15 at 8:00 PM and Sunday, September 16 at 4:00 PM,
for a special featured price of $18.

All plays will be performed by a talented ensemble cast including:
Dana Cianciotto, Jillian Courtney, Richard Chaney, Krista Lehman, Gary
McGaha, Teresa Simone, Dave Sewell, and Sara Thompson.  On each night
there will also be performances by a special guest artist. Guest
artists will include the Midriff Crisis Tribal Bellydance Troupe,
hoola hoop artiste Revo Lution, cabaret performers Butch Butch Goose,
and many more.

Since several key members of the theater company could be leaving
Tucson at the end of this year, it is very possible that this is the
last year the popular festival will be presented.

This year's plays are:  Their First Outing Since Their Last by Mary
Woods, Issues & Baggage by Ruby Berlin, The List by Linda Suzuki, and
Incoming by Kathy Anderson.  Their First Outing Since Their Last takes
a look at what happens between two old friends when everything
suddenly changes for one of them.  Issues & Baggage is a wild play
about dysfunctional relationships, ex-girlfriends, vibrators, and
dogs.  The List (which is by the author of last year's immensely
popular plays Just Sex Jazz Hands and Hot Restrike) chronicles the
sometimes complex territory of fantasy, fulfillment, and threesomes
with prostitutes. In Incoming, a woman has to decide what to do about
her girlfriend, who is pregnant, her father, who is dying, and her
ex-lover, who is trapped underneath a bed.
