Subject: IFASA Three-Minute Thriller Prize Pool Biggest Ever

 

 

In case you missed it in previous announcements, the prizes for this year's Independent Film Association of Southern Arizona's Three-Minute Thriller contest are the best ever.  In addition to a $100 prize in each category, the winners will also receive in-kind prizes worth hundreds of dollars.  So, if you haven't shot your three-minute masterpiece yet, do it soon, to have a shot at these great prizes.

 

The late entry deadline for the IFASA Three-Minute Thriller contest is 19 October.  A $5 late fee must be paid for any entries received after 1 October, this includes entries from IFASA members.  Cost to enter (excluding any late fee) for IFASA members (dues paid) is FREE!  Cost to non-members is $13.

 

The Three-Minute Thriller Contest will be held on Sunday, 28 October, at 6:00 PM, at the Screening Room, 127 E. Congress St., Tucson  The contest will be followed by a mixer across the street at Grill (Red Room), 100 E. Congress St.

 

Prize categories will be the same as previously (contingent on sufficient entries in each category):  Horror/Thriller, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Comedy/Spoof Horror, Experimental, and Youth Production.

 

Entries must be at most 3:59 minutes in length, including credits.  However, if you have a longer film you'd like to enter, we encourage you to break it up into parts 1, and 2, or even 3, and submit them as three different entries (paying the entry fee for each, if you are a non-member), each under 3:59.  (Any late fees must be paid for each part.)

 

Complete rules and entry forms are on the IFASA web site (www.ifasa.net).  Entries must be sent or delivered to Kim Braun at the address below.

 

Save now - Your $10 dues will save you the $13 entry fee!  Dues can be paid at any IFASA meeting or event or can be mailed to:  Kim Braun, 5615 N Maria Dr, Tucson, AZ 85704.  (Please include membership form from the IFASA web site.)

Hey Filmmakers and Thrillers,

 

For the planning purposes of the organizers of the IFASA Three-Minute Thriller contest, please send me a quick e-mail (to mclaff9@earthlink.net) to let me know if you plan to submit a Three-Minute Thriller, and if so, how many (this especially applies to people submitting videos broken into parts).  This will help us a lot in planning the schedule for the evening.  It is not a commitment for you, but will at least give us an estimate.  Also, if you know of anyone else planning to submit a video, please let us know.
