For Immediate Release

Waypoint Theatre Company proudly presents, “And Then They Came For Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank” by James Still, a powerful multi-media production that weaves together videotaped interviews of actual Holocaust survivors Ed Silverberg and Eva Schloss with live actors recreating scenes from their lives during World War II.

The production will feature a joint-fund raising premiere Wednesday, October 10, with scheduled performances October 11-14 at the intimate Cabaret Theatre, Temple of Music and Art, 330 South Scott Avenue, in downtown Tucson.

Ed Silverberg was Anne Frank’s boyfriend, whom she referred to as “Hello” in her now infamous diary.  Eva was the same age as Anne and lived in the same apartment building in Amsterdam.  Directed by Waypoint’s founder and artistic director, Melanie David, “And Then They Came For Me…” is part oral history, part dramatic action, part remembrance.  The multi-generational ensemble cast ranging in age from 13 to 54 breaks new ground, and is acclaimed by audiences and critics in productions world-wide.

Waypoint Theatre Company is southern Arizona’s premier faith-based theatre company.  Based in Oro Valley, WTC is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit live theatre organization with a commitment to professionalism and artistically produced entertainment.  As a producing and training organization, Waypoint seeks to produce quality live theatre that celebrates the joys and traditions of family and community.
