Subject: Belly Dance and Other Summer Classes!
ZUZI! Dance Company, School & Theater
We know it's hot but it's no excuse not to dance and stay in shape! Join us on Thursdays for our NEW gentle Belly Dance class! Look below for more information on the class and its instructor.
Thursdays 7-8pm June 9th-Sept.2
Today there are many different forms of Belly Dance. Contemporary Belly dance is often a fusion of styles from North India, the Middle East, and Africa. The contribution of American dancers is also significant. We will explore the essence of movements which involves isolating different parts of the body, especially hips, shoulders, chest and stomach. We will focus on the fluid nature of these movements and how they can create a sense of dignity, build strength and express our sensual being. We will dance our unique expression as well as unified movement. Class will incorporate somatic wisdom, yoga and temple poses to prepare the body and spirit for the dance. We will learn proper posture, technique and the basic vocabulary of belly dance. All ages and body types welcome.
