The Troubadour Theatre is doing a youth production of Thoroughly Modern Millie as a part of our summer musical theatre camp. We're currently looking for a boy between the ages of 10-17 capable of playing the male lead, Jimmy. Prior to the start of camp, we will be hosting auditions by appointment only early next week. You do not have to be signed up for the summer camp to audition. Ideally, Jimmy would be played by a boy between the ages of 12-15, but any boys aged 10-17 are welcome to audition. (Please note that this is a youth only production, anyone over 18 need not apply.)

Those who are signed up for Musical Theatre camp will also have a chance to audition for Jimmy (and all other roles) on the first day of camp June 20, so for those of you who are not signed up for the camp who audition early next week, we will notify you on June 20 if you got the part.

Jimmy is the male lead and love interest of Millie. He is a tenor and sings "What Do I Need With Love" and "I Turned a Corner" in the show. For the audition, we would like you to sing "What Do I Need With Love" from the show, the sheet music can be found free online here http://www.broadwayjr.com/audition/auditionlist.asp?ID=18 (Click on "Score" for Jimmy.) Recorded accompaniment will be available at audition. You're welcome to sign a song from another show (stage musicals, please) if preferred, but a accompany pianist may not be available. We may also require a short cold reading from the script (which will be available.)

If cast, rehearsals will be June 20-24, and June 27-July 1, with a performance on July 1 at 5:30 PM. Rehearsals will be during camp, which runs 9:00AM-3:30PM each day (weekdays), so you'll need to be available during those times (preferably for all of it.) We're located at La Paloma Academy Lakeside 8140 E. Golf Links Rd.

If interested in auditioning, please email troubadourtheatre@yahoo.com or call
520-401-4833 to schedule an audition for next week. If you want to see more information about the Troubadour Theatre, visithttp://www.troubadourtheatre.com
