Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Fridays and Saturdays, October 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7:30 pm
Sundays, October 18 and 25 at 3 pm.
Fahrenheit 451 is a riveting story about Guy Montag, a fireman in a land of repressive control and censorship. In this future society, all books have been banned and the population is pacified and stupefied by senseless entertainments on wall-sized TV screens, sedative medications and information overload of meaningless facts. It has become the work of Montag and the other firemen to seek out and burn any books hidden by dissident free thinkers. Montag’s world is turned upside down when he meets Clarisse, a vibrant young woman with an indomitable spirit, not willing to accept the status quo.
Fahrenheit 451 is a spellbinding tribute to the power of the written word and the capacity of the human spirit to persevere.
