THIS WEEK:

Begin the season with one of the greatest films of the classical Hollywood era! William Holden stars as Joe Gillis, a struggling screenwriter who finds himself in a twisted relationship with Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson), a washed-up silent film star who is plotting her big-screen comeback. Writer-director Billy Wilder's darkly satirical ode to failed Hollywood dreams was nominated for 11 Oscars, winning three.

Film introduction by Dr. Bradley Schauer.

Select screenings will be enhanced with the presentation of a short film by a BFA film student in the program.
