Auditions for Fall 2006 Admission


Who Needs to Audition?

Incoming Freshmen (for both the Professional Actor Training Program and the BFA in Musical Theatre)
Transfer Students (for both the Professional Actor Training Program and the BFA in Musical Theatre)
How?

Auditions will be held on the campus of the University of Arizona, in the Drama Building, Room 125 (street address is 1038 N. Park, just South of Speedway). Audition dates are:

Friday, February 17, 2006 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

OR

Saturday, February 18, 2006 from 9:00 am to 5:00 PM

You may attend either of those days.
Audition Requirements

Please contact the School of Theatre Arts to set up an audition appointment by calling 520-621-7008 or email: sydneyb1@email.arizona.edu. All those attending should bring a picture and performing resume. Resume should include name, address, phone number, and email address.

Professional Actor Training Program Audition Requirements: One monologue from the School of Theatre Arts’ approved list (available for electronic delivery when you schedule your audition by contacting the Theatre Arts office; see below). These are the only monologues that will be required or heard at the auditions.

BFA in Musical Theatre Audition Requirements: One monologue from the School of Theatre Arts’ approved list (available for electronic delivery when you schedule your audition by contacting the Theatre Arts office; see below). These are the only monologues that will be required or heard at the auditions.

AND

TWO Musical Theatre songs. Sing two contrasting songs from the musical theatre repertoire: one ballad and one up-tempo. Each song should be 32 measures. An accompanist will be provided in Tucson ONLY. Bring your music in the key you will be singing. For the Tucson auditions, you may not sing with a tape.
Videotape/DVD Audition Requirements

Videotape/DVD auditions will be accepted if you cannot attend the auditions in person. The same rules for the Acting or Musical Theatre auditions above apply (including approved monologues limitations). Videotapes should be in standard VHS format and must be received by 5:00 PM, February 17, 2006 (no late submissions accepted). Include your picture and resume and state whether you are auditioning for the BFA Acting program or BFA Musical Theatre Program. Also, state whether you will be entering as a freshman or as a transfer student. Please label your tape or dvd with your name, address, and phone number.
