TucsonFilm.com ShortFest
ANNOUNCES FINAL DEADLINE,
PRIZES AND SEMINAR DETAILS

Tucson, AZ  The TucsonFilm.com ShortFest  a one-day film festival
dedicated to the best truly independent short films, at The Loft Cinema
(3233 E Speedway Blvd.) on Saturday, April 15, 2006  announces the final
submission date for films is April 1, 2006. Submitting films is FREE, and
complete details and an entry form can be found at the www.TucsonFilm.com
Web site.

Original short films have streamed in from around the globe, with a strong
Arizona representation especially from Phoenix. Im confident this will be
the most original and impressive collection of shorts ever assembled for a
Tucson screening, festival director Timothy Gassen says. Tucson filmmakers
have one final chance to show they can compete with the best from around,
take the challenge, and submit their films.

Prizes will be awarded to the filmmakers for the Best of Arizona, Best of
Show, and an Audience Selection. Prizes include a film stock and film
transfer package from Pro 8mm in Los Angeles, a High Definition camera
seminar at Sound & Fury Productions in Tucson, a location shoot at Old
Tucson Studios, and professional filmmaker consultations  with more prizes
announced in continual updates to TucsonFilm.com.

The festivals $10 public ticket price also includes entrance to the April
15 afternoon filmmaker seminar. Among the seminar panelists are screenwriter
Marlowe Weisman (currently nominated for an Emmy Award), who will screen
samples of his produced work and discuss writing for short form television.

Dick Fisher, producer of the Sundance Festival-winning feature The Brothers
McMullen, will also share his independent film production experiences as a
producer, director, cinematographer and editor. Other filmmakers will also
screen their work and share their practical independent experience,
including director Mike Rom, who will debut his new supernatural short,
Gold, at the TucsonFilm.com ShortFest.
