Subject: [Tucson Actors Forum] Actor's Gymnasium - Special Session and Time.

Actor's Gymnasium is an on going free workshop dedicated to the scenic
craft of the actor and director. The workshop meets every Saturday at
2:00 p.m. at Prescott College Tucson Center.

Actor's Gymnasium presents "Physical Training at the Odin Teatret."

Nicole Stein and David Greenwood will present an overview of the
physical training and approach to theatre as practiced by Odin
Teatret. This workshop will take place on Saturday, December 2nd from
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Prescott College Tucson Center, 2233 E.
Speedway Blvd. This workshop is free and open to all interested
actors and directors. Please be on time and wear comfortable
clothing. Bring a light lunch or snack if you like.
Odin Teatret was founded in 1964 by Eugenio Barba and since that time
has become a widely recognized and admired international theatre
company. Odin Teatret is considered innovative in its approach to
theatre production and unique in its tradition and the dedication of
its ensemble of actors. Despite more than forty years of work
together, the company still engages in daily training for the
actor/dancer's scenic language. This daily activity is held by Odin
to be the binding force as well as common reminder of why they work
together as artists and why they remain committed to excellence in
their art.

This past September, Nicole Stein and David Greenwood traveled to
Holstebro, Denmark to participate in "Odin Week," a ten day active
conference hosted by Odin Teatret. The conference included practical
workshops, films, lectures, work demonstrations and performances.
Fifty participants from around the world were in attendance to learn
the history, the training methods, and the ideas behind Odin Teatret.
Nicole and David are happy to share the basis of their experience and
look forward to your participation. For more information or to RSVP
please contact David Greenwood at dgreenwood@prescott.edu
