BORDERLANDS TO PRESENT A TUCSON PASTORELA BY TONI PRESS-COFFMAN, DECEMBER 14-23, 2006, AT THE LEO RICH THEATRE 260. SOUTH CHURCH.
A Tucson Pastorela returns to the Borderlands stage for the 11th year! This incredible and wacky adventure of the Shepherds, Sheep and Dog on their trip to Bethlehem to witness the birth of the Baby Jesus is written by local playwright Toni Press-Coffman. The sneaky Devils and glorious Archangels disguised as popular characters-such as Cheney and Mel Gibson- will battle for the souls of the Shepherds and their flock under the direction of Barclay Goldsmith and Eva Tessler.
Beautiful carols in English and Spanish and live music ranging from hip hop to waila provided by Gertie and the T.O.Boyz. Also Borderlands will host special performances by Ballet Folklorico Tapatio, Sunday December 17 and Saturday December 23.
