The Business

Tuesdays,  12:00 noon - 1:30 pm
January 16th through March 6th (no class on Feb. 6th)
7 weeks, $45/week

The course explains in detail headshots, resumes, agents, and unions.  Anna Risley will help you create or redo your acting resume.  In addition, this course provides a great deal of information and advice on how to work well with your agent, casting directors, fellow actors, and avoid many costly mistakes in the business.  Also, learn the protocol of auditioning – what to say and do in an audition situation.

While this is a 7-week course, you may sign up to take the first three consecutive weeks, or you may sign up to take the complete 7-week course.  The first three weeks cover headshots, resumes, agents, and the basic tools you need to compete.

All courses at The Studio are taught by Anna Risley, who has had many speaking roles in SAG Feature Films along with Movies made for Network Television and Miniseries.  (Most of her films were cast and shot in NYC, some in LA, and a few in Phoenix and Tucson.)  Because of her acting experience, she knows exactly what casting directors want at an audition, and what directors hope for from a performance.  Ms. Risley has owned and run The Studio for Actors since 1986.
