For Immediate Release

"AS Alice" Free for Kids

On Saturday, December 16, Bisbee's Obscure Productions will present "AS
Alice," scenes from Alice in Wonderland in American Sign Language with
English voice interpretation. The stories are silly, the signing is
fascinating, and the English translation reflects both the modern ASL and
Carroll's inimitable prose.

American Sign Language is the second most used language in the United
States. As part of their mission, Bisbee's Obscure Productions has
interpreted some of their English productions into ASL, but this is their
first production with American Sign Language as the first language. The
actors are primarily Honors Sign Language students at Cochise College, along
with Deaf actors and community members. Liz Lockwood directs.

"Alice" will play for one show only December 16 at 3:00 pm at St.
John's Episcopal Church Hall, 19 Sowles Avenue in Old Bisbee. The show is
free for children under 12, accompanied by a paying adult, and $3 for 12 and
up. Tickets will be sold at the door only starting at 2:30 pm.
