Subject: [IFASA] Pima County Library video projects seek DPs and sound
mixers - PAID

This summer I, Ben Umstead, am one of a few producers (primarily from
Pan Left productions) working with Pima County Library on two video
projects for the library system and community.

#1 TEEN BOOK TRAILER PROJECT

The first project encompasses 8 smaller trailer projects directed by
teens. This is the teen trailer book project where selected teens have
picked their favorite books to turn into a movie trailer to promote
the book.
We are now past the script writing process and well into the casting
and pre production process for all projects and seeking DPs and sound
mixers who would be interested in working with dedicated, passionate
and visionary teens and their mentor co-producer/director on their
trailer.
All 8 projects are spread out over the month of June, at least one a
week. Though only one shooting day. The source material ranges from
"The Giver" to "Cirque Du Freak".

All projects will be shot on a Panasonic 24p camera. Moderate lighting
kits will be available.
We will be mixing sound with a standard Schure 4-6 channel field mixer
and be using several boom mounted mics.

Pay will be lower then standard and not a flat daily fee but an hourly
fee of $12.50. These are seen as community based projects and the
library has a limited budget.

The projects will be shown online, through Access Tucson, and
distributed on DVD through Library and school systems as well as being
shown at public events.

If you're interested in stepping up and doing something fun and
different; getting a chance to teach and learn from young filmmakers
then please contact each individual mentor producer. All relevant

#2 TEEN ADVOCACY VIDEO

The 2nd project is a new Teen advocacy video promoting and encouraging
the the library to teenagers. This will be done in a non preachy, non
cheesy way, paying some homage to the John Hughes film, "The Breakfast
Club."
Pan Left's Liz Burden and myself are co-producing and I will be
directing this video.

Pay will be a flat daily fee at least 25% higher then the teen trailer
pay. So at least $125 or $150. The library still needs to get back to
us on this...

Shooting is scheduled for Sunday June 24th and Sunday July 1st at the
Main Library Downtown.

We will be shooting on a Panasonic 24p camera and have access to
moderate lighting kits.

Sound will be handled through a Schure 4-6 channel field mixer. We
have our choice of several different boom mics

The project will be shown online, through Access Tucson, and
distributed on DVD through Library and school systems as well as being
shown at public events.

You may contact me, Ben Umstead if interested.
