Casting opportunities for Waypoint’s fall production

Waypoint Theatre Company will be conducting auditions for its fall show, "And Then They Came For Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank" by James Still.  Waypoint is a faith-based, non-profit theatre company based in northwest Tucson with a commitment to excellence.  Please visit our website at www.waypoint-theatre.org for more information about the company and previous shows.

Production Information:

"And Then They Came For Me"  is a unique theatre experience...a multi-media play that combines videotaped interviews with Holocaust survivors Ed Silverberg and Eva Schloss with live actors recreating scenes from their lives during World War II.  Ed was Anne Frank's first boyfriend, whom she wrote about in her now-famous diary.  Eva was the same age as Anne and lived in the same apartment building in Amsterdam.  Her family went into hiding the same day as the Franks.  This is a multi-generational, ensemble-driven production, directed by WTC Executive Artistic Director, Melanie David.

Roles to be filled:  Currently, we are auditioning the roles of Anne Frank (female to portray 15 year old with dark eyes, dark hair, stage experience preferred); Young Ed Silverberg (male to portray 16-17 year old, stage experience preferred, play acoustic guitar); Heinz (male to portray 16-17 year old with dark hair, dark eyes).  Selected scenes of the script are available, or you may read a portion of the script on line at: http://www.dramaticpublishing.com/product_info.php?products_id=64

Production Dates:  Thursday, October 11 through Sunday, October 14 at the Cabaret Theatre- Temple for the Music and Art.  Five performances are scheduled--with the possibility of one school performance on Wednesday, October 10.

Rehearsals:  Rehearsals will begin the last week of August, break for Labor Day, and continue through October 10 on Monday and  Wednesday evenings (6:30-9p), and either Saturday afternoons (2-5) OR Sunday afternoons (2-5pm).  Tech week is Sunday, October 7 through October 10.  Annual membership in Waypoint Theatre Company is required upon being cast ($10 membership for students 7-17 years).
