Turn back the clock and set the dial for a dose of Christmas nostalgia as this beloved Capra Christmas classic comes to captivating life as a live, staged radio show! Seven, savvy studio actors employ their vocal talents in a Manhattan studio with on-stage Foley sound effects before a live audience to re-imagine the much-loved tale of George Bailey’s journey of self-worth—including commercials and a fun, live musical pre-show featuring 40s vocal favorites.
This will be Waypoint’s first production in their new performance venue, Atria’s Academy Hall Theatre, located at 6653 East Carondelet Drive, northeast of St. Joseph’s Medical Center, off Wilmot, north of Broadway.
Waypoint will also be holding a Silent Auction fund raiser in support of their 2008 Capital Campaign. Silent Auction bidding began November 1 on line at the company’s website:
www.waypoint-theatre.org. Or bids may be emailed directly to waypoint@waypoint-theatre.org.
There are 40 quality items featured including restaurant gift cards, handmade quilt, stained glass, original oil paintings, pet sitting services, handyman services, VIP reserved seating passes to productions, homemade goodies, Mary Kay and Starbuck’s gift baskets, Vacation get-aways and many, many more items.
