Tucson, Arizona-- Pima Community College performing arts department is pleased to present the PCC Jazz Ensemble in concert, under the direction of Mike Kuhn. The 18-piece big band performs a repertoire from swing to modern. The program includes arrangements of Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage" and Dexter Gordon's "Cheesecake" along with tunes by Sammy Nestico, Greg Yasinitsky and Les Hooper. The performance features Mike Kuhn on tenor saxophone and Glen Gross on trumpet with vocalist Lali Smith.
 
In addition to instructing jazz ensemble and improvisation classes at PCC, Mike Kuhn plays the jazz saxophone with the Arizona Jazz Orchestra and performs in a variety of venues around the greater Tucson area.
 
The Jazz Ensemble Concert is open to the public. Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts box office, located on West Campus at 2202 West Anklam Road, Tucson, (just west of downtown and I-10 on St. Mary’s Road, which turns into Anklam Road ). Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon-5 p.m. and one hour prior to performance.
