Theatre Friends,

This weekend at the Comedy Playhouse, we'll open our run of "One Acts of Love." Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sunday afternoon at 3:00. Tickets are $18.00 with discounts available for seniors and students. The Comedy Playhouse is located at 3620 N. First Ave. That's in First and Prince Plaza at the intersection of First and Prince. Call 260-6442 for reservations, as seating is limited.

"One Acts of Love" includes "The Bear" and "The Proposal" by Anton Checkov and "Who Kissed Barbara" by Franz and Lillian Rickaby.

The Bear

An ex-military officer calls on a young widow to collect a debt owed to him by her late husband. The widow has no money available, but the officer stubbornly stays. Their conversation grows into an argument about women's rights. Have women come far enough to fight a duel?

The Proposal

A timid landowner pays a call to his neighbor. He's turned forty-five and he feels it's time for him to get married. Why not propose to his neighbor's daughter? Before he can propose, he mentions a plot of land whose ownership is in dispute between the two neighbors. An argument ensues and he leaves. Eventually, he calms down and returns. What else can go wrong?

Who Kissed Barbara?

Barbara has made a vow that she will be kissed only by her one true love. While walking through the hallway of her best friend Katherine's house, the lights suddenly go out and someone kisses Barbara. Who kissed Barbara?

The show lasts two hours. There is a fifteen-minute intermission. The Comedy Playhouse has lit, adjacent parking.

Come and enjoy the fun!

Regards,

Bruce Bieszki
