Subject: PROFESSIONAL ACTORS PERFORM THE STORIES OF LOCAL YOUTH

Greetings!

As we complete a fifth season of creating and sharing performances using stories written by Tucson’s youth, we plan to celebrate this milestone with “Hollywood Circus” style. Please join us as we showcase the minds of young writers and get a glimpse into how this next generation views the world around us. On May 22nd, we will present the 2010 Best of Stories that Soar!, and we would like for you to join us.

Stories that Soar!

PROFESSIONAL ACTORS PERFORM THE STORIES OF LOCAL YOUTH

TUCSON—SharMoore Children’s Productions is pleased to announce the 5th annual Best of Stories that Soar! An ensemble of professional actors, Stories that Soar! spends the year creating performances using stories written by students from local elementary schools. Each performance is different, created entirely for a specific school from stories written by students at that school. Children are given the freedom to let their imaginations run wild when writing for Stories that Soar’s hungry Magic Box. The Best of Stories that Soar! provides a current snapshot into the minds and thoughts of young writers across Tucson. Michael Jackson and zombies increased their appearances this season, as well as stories reflecting families’ financial struggles. Stories of friendship, dragons, and evil lunch ladies always seem to be of interest!

Best of Stories that Soar! will be held May 22nd at the Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott Avenue. The evening consists of events for the entire family. Entertainment begins at 4:30 in the courtyard with a Hollywood Circus theme. Free snacks, face painting, and preshow entertainment will be available for all to enjoy. Selected authors will be present to sign autographs and pose for photos. The performance begins at 6:00. Admission is $5 for youth and $8 for adults. For more information, visit storiesthatsoar.org, find the Stories that Soar! Group on Facebook, or call Sharon at 520.975.9970.
