Tucson, Arizona – Pima Community College performing arts department presents the Chorale & College Singers under the direction of Benjamin Sorenson. The concert features the Chorale, a large mixed-voice choir and the College Singers, a smaller mixed-voice choir. Program selections include “Bourrée” and Fugue in C minor” by J.S. Bach, “Four Folk Songs” by Johannes Brahms, “Lebenslust” by Franz Schubert and “Agnus Dei” by Greg Gilpin. They also perform “Life Is Happiness Indeed” by Leonard Bernstein, “Choose Something Like a Star” by Randall Thompson, “And So it Goes” by Billy Joel, “The Dream Tree” by Buffy Sainte-Marie, “At The River” a hymn tune adapted by Aaron Copland, and the premiere of “Perfect Night,” an original composition by music student Tony Spar.
 
 Sorenson has been directing the Chorale & College Singers since 1978. He performs regularly with the Arizona Opera Company and has prepared choruses professionally for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and the Arizona Opera Company.  
 
The PCC Chorale & College Singers concert is open to the public. Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts box office, located on West Campus at 2202 West Anklam Road, Tucson, (just west of downtown and I-10 on St. Mary’s Road which turns into Anklam Road). Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon-5 p.m. and one hour prior to performance.
