Arizona Theatre Company has an opening for a Marketing & PR Manager in Tucson, Arizona.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for dispersing information about ATC and its productions, special events and staff to the media and public in Tucson. The position's primary responsibilities include working with the Marketing Director and External Affairs team to carry out marketing campaigns that incorporate editorial coverage, collaborative promotions, print collateral distribution, e-marketing and social media. It is essential that the holder of this position is immersed in the Tucson community and has the ability to both differentiate and incorporate the unique facets of marketing and PR.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications, public relations, or related.

3-5 years professional experience in PR, marketing or media; experience for non-profit or arts organization desired.

Excellent interpersonal skills required – must be a team player.

Professional style, able to meet the general public with a gracious style; commitment to the organization; strong oral and written communications skills; able to effectively interact with a wide variety of people; able to effectively manage time and work load.

Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Office products; familiarity with social media tools, websites and video usage.

Reliable transportation.

Essential Job Functions:

Manage Tucson Marketing & PR Associate and Marketing Interns (when applicable)

Develop and maintain positive relationships with members of the press.

Write and distribute news releases for productions and special events.

Continually maintain press lists.

Generate story ideas for print, broadcast and online media.

Oversee the scheduling and facilitation of print, radio and television interviews for guest artists and staff.

Monitor the media for ATC mentions and distribute and archive ATC press clippings; monitor the media for items of interest to ATC leadership and staff.

Work with Phoenix Marketing & PR Manager to develop production press CDs for select guest artists and staff.

Oversee the distribution of photos and b-roll to various media outlets.

Oversee Tucson opening night events, which will include communicating with VIPS and critics; ensuring the quality of the house; and working closely with the Box Office on seating.

 

Oversee the distribution of marketing collateral in the Tucson market.

Manage the look and feel of the public spaces at the Temple of Music and Art; ensure ATC is branded throughout the building, including the Box Office, Temple Lounge and Art Gallery.

Employ Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms to help achieve ATC goals.

Coordinate special promotions with community members, businesses, arts organizations and partners.

Create partnerships with appropriate community players, as pertaining to campaign goals.

Oversee the donation of theatre tickets to other non-profit organizations and identify promotional opportunities when applicable.

Coordinate and maintain trade lists with other arts organizations in the Tucson market.

Work with webmaster to maintain press information on ATC website.

Participate on the editorial team of ATC's online newsletter.

Represent ATC at events, both at the theatre and within the community.

Some travel to Phoenix required.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Mobility and sensory capability required for the organization of events, computer utilization, telephone access and communication, communication one-on-one and in meetings. Indoor work environment is climate controlled and has moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Must be able to lift 20 pounds and sit or stand for long periods of time. Work will include some long hours, evenings and weekends.
