Ten individuals who have provided outstanding service
in the greater Tucson community will be honored with
a “2010 Caring Deeds Award” during an evening of live
music and celebration.

Anyone may nominate an individual in the greater
Tucson community for a Caring Deeds Award if that
person has performed acts (single or multiple) to
improve the lives of animals, the environment, children,
the elderly, or other specific groups. The nomination
form may be found online at www.stfrancisumc.com and
deadline for submission of nominations is August 15,
2010.

The evening will begin at 6:30 P.M., with a social hour
offering food, drinks and music in a casual outdoor
setting. At 7:30 P.M., the event moves indoors, where
each awardee will receive an award and be honored with
a song performed by some of Tucson’s finest musical
talent. Tickets are $20 general admission &
$15 for students and seniors.

September 11, 2010 Event Announcement

The St. Francis Theater Ensemble will host Of Thee I Sing, A Musical Tribute to Local Heroes on the evening of September 11th 2010.  Ten individuals who have provided outstanding service in the greater Tucson community will be honored with a “2010 Caring Deeds Award” during an evening of live music and celebration.

 

St. Francis Theater Ensemble is a long-established, community-based theater program dedicated to providing meaningful, inclusive, inspiring and affordable theater experiences in an intimate setting. We are appreciative of our Tucson area supporters and feel fortunate to be part of this uniquely creative and caring community.  The Of Thee I Sing event, with its’ Caring Deeds Awards, provides an opportunity for the theater company to give back and honor our community.

 

Anyone may nominate an individual in the greater Tucson community for a Caring Deeds Award if that person has made a difference by stepping forward in a time of crisis to help another person or has worked toward the betterment of the community by taking action to help improve someone’s quality of life or performed a heroic action.  Persons may be nominated if he or she performs acts (single or multiple) to improve the lives of animals, the environment, children, the elderly or other specific groups. 

 

The nomination form may be found online and the deadline for submission of nominations is August 15, 2010.  A committee will select ten individuals to receive the awards and the awardees and nominators will be notified by August 28, 2010. The awardees will be guests of St. Francis Theater Ensemble for the September 11, 2010 celebration.

 

The Of Thee I Sing, A Musical Tribute to Local Heroes event will be held on September 11th at St. Francis in the Foothills at 4625 E. River Road in Tucson (NW corner of River & Swan). The evening will begin at 6:30 pm with a social hour offering food, drinks and music in a casual outdoor setting. At 7:30 pm the event moves indoors, where each awardee will receive an award and be honored with a song performed by some of Tucson’s finest musical talent.  Performers will include Kit Runge, Lissa Staples, Regina Wills, Robert Encila and Todd Luethjohann.  Tickets for the event will be on sale after July 30th 2010 at $20 or $15 for students and seniors. Proceeds for the event will go toward a fund to purchase much needed performance upgrades including a new staging system as well as sound and lighting equipment.  These upgrades will enhance the theater experience for the audience as well as the safety for our performers.  These items will also be used for the multiple other events that occur at St. Francis.
