Auditions - WORKING, The Musical (revised)

The Perfect Musical for Everyone who has ever worked a day in their lives!

Directed by Robert Encila

Musical Direction by David Craig

Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5, 1-4 pm

St. Francis Theatre, 4625 E. River Rd. (at Swan Rd), Rm 30/31

Show runs three weekends, February 20-March 8, 2015 at St. Francis Theatre

A delightfully funny and thoroughly touching musical of what goes through the mind of employed (or not) Americans. Based on Studs Terkel's book and his interviews with real working people--construction workers, waitresses, firemen, secretaries and cleaning women, WORKING is both an exploration of the individuals' occupations and a lament for lost hopes and dreams - taking the average worker's viewpoint and showing that he or she is anything but average.

This musical adaptation was first conceived by Stephen Schwartz (GODSPELL, PIPPIN, WICKED) and first staged on Broadway in 1978. Schwartz has revised (2012) this musical for today's audience with new songs and new characters.
